Growth highlights

Tamar is an independent privately-owned agency retained by some of the UK's top blue-chip companies.

We have grown organically without external investment, and 2013 sees our 18th year online.

Our growth has been fuelled by our impressive 95% client retention rate - our longest client relationship is 12 years and the average client partnership is currently 4 years. Furthermore, 50% of all our new business comes through client referrals.

2013

Tamar wins high-profile contracts to work with several blue-chip brands, including Danone and MandMDirect.

2012

London 2012 provides the focus-point for a number of well-publicised research projects and events, including work for Team GB on a series of infographics and a panel at Social Media Week London featuring two Team GB Gold Medal winners. The second half of the year saw Tamar win an impressive 7 new clients in 7 weeks in Q3. New clients won during 2012 included Halfords, The Perfume Shop, Little Black Dress and Golden Palace Web Casino.

2011

Tamar is shortlisted in the Travel Marketing Awards for Best Use of Search Optimisation for its work for Celebrity Cruises. The first biannual 'Brand Love 25' research infographic is released. Tamar client Express Insurance win 'Marketing Campaign of the Year' for their social media work with Tamar.

2010

Tamar expands its travel portfolio by being awarded the SEO for Royal Caribbean.  Kays and B&Q appoint Tamar for SEO, strengthening our presence in the retail space.  The 2010 NMA Marketing Services Guide lists Tamar as a Top Ten UK search agency with expertise in the social field.

2009

Tamar wins Agency of the Year at the Financial Services Forum Awards. AIG further strengthen their relationship with Tamar by awarding us the SEO for Direct Travel. Tamar leads the way in social media running a highly effective twitter campaign for The Prince's Trust. Our CEO, Tanya, is named one of Revolutions Top 10 Tweeters. We are commended for our SEO work at the Revolution and Financial Services Forum Awards.

2008

Insurance giants AIG and wedding specialists Confetti appoint Tamar as their SEO agency. Cheltenham & Gloucester selects Tamar for SEO. CEO, Tanya Goodin is a finalist for the Blackberry Women & Technology Awards 2008. Tamar sets up Tamar Lifeline Charity as a registered charity. We complete 3 separate CSR projects on 3 different continents, Africa (Cape Town), Asia (Shanghai) and Europe (Cornwall).

2007

Tamar is listed in the Media Momentum 2007 Top 50 fastest growing digital media companies. Tamar is also ranked 24 in the NMA Marketing Services Guide. CEO, Tanya Goodin is a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Tesco Personal Finance and Airmiles appoint Tamar for SEO. Our new Asia hub office is opened in Shanghai.

2006

New wins to strengthen our retail and travel portfolio include SAGA, B&Q, Eurocamp and The Post Office. Our first international office in Cape Town opens. We are awarded Investor in People status for our continuing high levels of staff investment and training.

2005

Impressive growth in the financial services sector continues and the agency is nominated for the prestigious Net Imperative Awards. We add Lloyds TSB and the NSPCC to our client list.

2004

Dramatic growth includes client wins from Direct Line, Privilege Insurance, Green Flag, Welcome Car Finance, Churchill Insurance and Budget Insurance. Tamar is appointed a preferred supplier to the BBC.

2003

The agency starts working for the RAC, Dreams plc, American Express and Manchester United.

2002

Tamar listed in New Media Age's Top 100 digital agencies.

1998

New clients include J Sainsbury plc. We also launched our first conversion-focused transactional site for insurer Endsleigh - setting the standard for our strong growth in the financial services sector.

1995

Tamar established by CEO Tanya Goodin in London. The agency was named after HMS Tamar, the British naval base in Hong Kong where Tanya was brought up.
