Environment
Tamar is committed to being an environmentally responsible organisation, aiming to ensure that not only are we "eco-friendly" but that we act and do business in a sustainable way.
Our offices in London, Cape Town and Shanghai are all doing their bit to make sure that Tamar is environmentally responsible, wherever we operate. Our environmental initiatives are based on the principles of Reduce, Re-use, Recycle.
Reduce
We make conscious efforts to reduce our use of paper and other
stationery, electricity, travel, plastic bags and other disposable
items.
Re-use
We promote re-usable items in our offices, such as proper cups,
glasses and cutlery, and encourage re-use of disposable items where
possible, like plastic bags and paper which has been printed on one
side only.
Recycling
Tamar is currently reviewing a number of business recycling
organisations to ensure we recycle all our metal, plastic and
glass. All ink cartridges and toners are sent for recycling. We aim
to give used office equipment such as computers to charity or
computer recycling specialists.
Energy use
All Tamar team members are encouraged to conserve energy at all
times, making sure monitors and VDUs are left off (not on "stand
by") when not in use. Air Conditioning units are only used when
completely necessary, and doors are closed to reduce wastage.
Resources
Tamar sources all stationery and resources from "green"
suppliers where possible. We like to use recycled products when
available, for example stationary made out of recycled paper and
carpet made of recycled materials.
