Tamar is an independent privately-owned agency retained by some of the UK's top blue-chip companies. We have grown organically without external investment, and 2008 sees our 13th year online.

Our growth has been fuelled by our impressive 95% client retention rate - our longest client relationship is 10 years and the average client partnership is currently 4 years. Furthermore, 50% of all our new business comes through client referrals.

  • 2008: Cheltenham & Gloucester selects Tamar for SEO. CEO, Tanya Goodin is shortlisted for the Blackberry Women & Technology Awards 2008. Tamar sets up Tamar Lifeline Charity as a registered charity.
  • 2007: Our board is strengthened by the appointment of a new CSD, Lesley Oliver. Tamar is listed in the Media Momentum 2007 Top 50 fastest growing digital media companies. Tamar is also ranked 24 in the NMA Marketing Services Guide. CEO, Tanya Goodin is a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entreprenuer of the Year Awards. Tesco Personal Finance and Airmiles appoint Tamar for SEO. Our new Asia hub office is opened in Shanghai.
  • 2006: New wins to strengthen our retail and travel portfolio include SAGA, B&Q, Eurocamp and The Post Office. Our first international office in Cape Town opens. We are awarded Investor in People status for our continuing high levels of staff investment and training.
  • 2005: Impressive growth in the financial services sector continues and the agency is nominated for the prestigious Net Imperative Awards. We add Lloyds TSB and the NSPCC to our client list.
  • 2004: Dramatic growth includes client wins from Direct Line, Privilege Insurance, Green Flag, Welcome Car Finance, Churchill Insurance and Budget Insurance. Tamar is appointed a preferred supplier to the BBC.
  • 2003: The agency starts working for the RAC, Dreams plc, American Express and Manchester United.
  • 2002: Tamar listed in New Media Age's Top 100 digital agencies.
  • 1998: New clients include J Sainsbury plc. We also launched our first conversion-focused transactional site for insurer Endsleigh - setting the standard for our strong growth in the financial services sector.
  • 1995: Tamar established by CEO Tanya Goodin in London. The agency was named after HMS Tamar, the British naval base in Hong Kong where Tanya was brought up.
