Award-winning agency Tamar have today released the latest
version of 'TouchScore™' - an innovative and ground-breaking
social media measurement tool. TouchScore™ was developed to
allow brands to compare their social media standing against key
competitors and industry leaders. By using 100+ metrics, data feeds
and APIs, TouchScore™ provides the insight and understanding
brands need to accurately assess and develop effective
brand-consumer relationships in digital marketing - and increase
sales and conversions.
Tamar's TouchScore™ tool breaks into five significant 'Touch' components: visibility, involvement, participation, advocacy and commitment. An overall TouchScore™ is calculated based on the weighted composite of each of those components. The insight delivered by the tool demonstrates how brands can adapt and evolve social media strategies in order to achieve goals successfully and efficiently.
Tamar have already delivered this unique and valuable tool for highly-recognised brands including sk:n clinics, Halfords, Danone, Wiggle and American Express. This latest update to the tool provides coverage of even more social platforms, incorporating sites such as Pinterest, Google+ and several mobile channels.
"TouchScore™ has been an invaluable tool for the team here at sk:n" says Phil Holdsworth, Digital Marketer at sk:n clinics. "Whilst we've made good inroads in social already, the insight provided by TouchScore™ is allowing us to hone our strategy. It highlighted a couple of areas in particular which our competitors are making strong gains in, as well as some areas that have worked well for us."
"TouchScore™ has been two years in development at Tamar and we believe it is the most comprehensive social media measurement tool on the market today." Commented Tamar CEO Tanya Goodin. "We have already delivered it for some of the UK's leading digital brands and we look forward to developing its capabilities further as the social media market natures"

We have launched our 3rd annual edition of BrandLove25. Our ongoing project to measure the 'love' shown in their social media communities for Britain's leading digital brands.
This edition looks specifically at year-on-year social community growth. In this harsh economic climate we reasoned that those brands who had grown their social communities dramatically since 2012 must be doing something right, and we wanted to find out who they were.

Henry Elliss comments on use of Pinterest and the new business pages:
"Pinterest is currently considered to be a useful part of the social mix for most of our clients, though admittedly we would never push it as the 'core' of a campaign - at least not until it's proven its mettle in more tangible way.
All the talk of Pinterest being a major traffic driver for retail brands that we've seen coming out in the past six to nine months have shown the potential of Pinterest, but it needs to cross-over more permanently from "potential fad" to "long term social network" in order to become a pillar of brands' strategies.
There are definitely signs of it heading that way at the moment though, so it's clearly going to be a big part of the 2013 landscape."

Tamar's third and final infographic in our Team GB
infographic shows the medal and Twitter highlights across London
London 2012 saw some of the more well known athletes such as Tom Daley and Andy Murray hit over 1 million Twitter followers as you may expect, but we also highllght the dramatic increase of some of Team GB's less known athletes before the games, such as Gemma Gibbons who nearly reached an impressive 6000% increase in Twitter followers after the Games.
Additionally, we won more medals in cycling than any other sport and an impressive 72% of medalists were first-time winners.
Congratulations to all of the Team GB team, from the athletes to the team behind the scenes, that made London 2012 such a huge success offline and online.
